About the Story
the moonlight pours through the window of her dormitory in a London orphanage, a young girl secretly sobs herself to sleep.
Beautiful, talented Daphne wonders if her dreams of finding her real family, and of becoming the star ballerina she has always wanted to be, will ever come true.
Then, when she is 13, something exciting happens. A mysterious parcel arrives for her, containing a book and a pair of fragile scarlet silk stockings. Could they possibly hold the key to her future?
To her amazement, the book is called How To Teach Yourself Ballet. Inside it, Daphne discovers a mysterious riddle that begins: “FIRST, YOU MUST FIND ME.” She swears to solve the riddle—her dreams of love and fame depend on it.
Little does she know that MAGIC, glorious, dangerous MAGIC, will confront her at every turn.
